Plastic surgery involves many choices. The first and most important choice you will have to make is selecting a surgeon you can trust. One who has enough experience to assure you a positive outcome.
The treatment options we offer are listed below. Please read below and contact our office to find out if any of these are right for you.
Often, women become self-concious about the size and/or shape of their breasts and seek out breast augmentation to look and feel better. Our surgical options for breast surgery have gotten very advanced and the technology has improved dramatically to make having your breasts altered as simple as possible. If you desire a bigger, more shapely appearance contact us to find out if breast augmentation is right for you.
Breast lift (or mastopexy) specifically refers to raising the breast tissue and nipple back to a more aesthetically pleasing position on the chest. Typically, women may notice sagging or drooping (ptosis) of their breast tissue and nipples after pregnancy or weight loss. This procedure can be combined with augmentation (placement of a breast implant) to provide an appropriate breast size, shape, and position.
Breast reduction (or reduction mammoplasty) can help with issues of having breast which are too large or too heavy. Symptoms of large breasts can include breast pain, skin rashes and infections, bra strap pressure causing pain and grooving of the shoulders, and neck pain. A portion of the breast tissue is removed, while the remaining breast and nipple are repositioned on the chest. This procedure typically provides great patient satisfaction.
Breast reconstruction involves the process of recreating the breast, nipple and areola ( the portion of skin around the nipple). While this is a complex topic, there are two basic categories of breast reconstruction: using the patient's own tissue (flaps from the back or abdomen) or using implants. Sometimes these two methods are combined for the best result.
New advances in breast implant reconstruction have recently become more common. We encourage our patients who are scheduled to undergo partial or complete mastectomy, to schedule an appointment prior to their surgery to discuss reconstruction options.
Rhytidectomy, or as it's better known as, a facelift is a surgical option for those wanting to improve their facial appearance or "look younger." It tightens and improves the face and jaw areas that may tend to sag or droop as we age.
(or nose surgery or even commonly known as a "nose job") is the surgical correction of the nose (natural disfigurements or reconstructive) to improve the appearance or even to correct breathing problems. Most often, people seek out rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons to alter the size of the nose and sculpt it into better harmony with the face.
Eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is a common procedure to remove excess sagging, fat and skin from the upper and lower portions of the eyes. That droopy eyelid look can be corrected with blepharoplasty and restore a more refreshed, natural appearance.

Injectable fillers can offer subtle, but important, corrections to fine lines, wrinkles, and hollow areas of the face. Treatment areas typically include the following:
Dr. Birchenough personally does all injections himself after careful discussion. We will consider multiple filler options, including Juvaderm Ultra Plus, with you during your consultation.
Botox (botulinum toxin) is an injectable product, but not technically a "filler." It works by blocking the ability of the nerves in the treated area to cause the connected muscles to contract. It relaxes those muscles, providing a more youthful look.
It's used to smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age.
Liposuction (or suction assisted lipoplasty) is the process of injecting a wetting salt solution (saline) and using a small hollow tube (cannula) to remove the patient's fat mixed with the solution. Plastic surgeons have been using this tumescent liposuction as their standard for many years. This technique can be applied to several areas of the body, including the neck and jowls, arms and breasts, abdomen and thighs. An important consideration for good outcomes from liposuction is skin elasticity, or ability of the skin to contract after the underlying fat is removed.
Ultrasonic liposuction (or ultrasonic assisted lipoplasty) is similar, except a cannula generating a high frequency is used to help break up the fat and connections between the fat prior to the use of standard liposuction. This can be especially useful in areas where the fat has many fibers connecting it - for instance, in enlarged male breast tissue.
A body lift procedure typically involves the simultaneous treatment of excessive skin and fat of the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. For patients who have undergone significant weight loss, the excess, lax skin and accompanying fat left on the lower body can be treated in a single surgery. Though this is a more involved procedure, the results can be significant for someone who has had massive weight loss.
Abdominoplasty or often referred to as a tummy tuck is a surgical procedure that targets the mid section to remove excess fat and tighten the overall apperance of your tummy. Abdominoplasty is not a weight loss treatment and should not be considered for weight loss alone. Arm lift (or brachioplasty) is a procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the upper arm. This is typically done after significant weight loss, from exercise and diet or after weight loss surgery. The goal of creating a more natural contour of the upper arm can be gained with either liposuction or removal of excess skin and fat, depending on the particular situation.
